Painting, opaque watercolour on paper, depicting a group of ladies visiting holy men in the forest at night.

This painting shows a group of ladies visiting holy men in their sanctuary at night. Night scenes of this subject were popular in Faizabad, the capital of Avadh (known in English as Oudh) and Lucknow in the 18th century.
