Relief design for a medal, wWax, English, by Edwin Coffin, 1802
Model for a medal depicting Britannia standing crowning a figure of Minerva; modelled in brown wax on a mahogany background; inscribed 'Arts and Commerce Promoted / Britannia, 1802'.
This relief design for a medal was made by Edwin Coffin in England, 1802. From the inscription 'Arts and Commerce Promoted' this appears to be a design for a medal awarded by the Society of Arts, and probably exhibited at the Royal Academy by Coffin in 1802.
