Porcelain vase and cover painted in enamels with indianisiche Blumen and perlmutter lustre. Marked AR monogram.

Under the patronage of Augustus the Strong of Saxony (1670-1733), the first true porcelain was made at the Meissen factory. This was established in 1710. He continued to be its best customer, ordering masterpieces marked with his initials for his many palaces.

Made for Augustus the Strong.
