Jun ware. Dish, stoneware with pale lavender-blue glaze; China (Henan province), Northern Song dynasty

Jun ware dish of shallow shape with gently curving sides turning in slightly at the rim, and with small, low spreading foot. Stoneware burnt brown while imperfectly glazed round the footring, and covered with a thick, pale lavender-blue glaze, a patch of glaze on the base.
