Fichu, bobbin lace, made in Honiton, England, mid 19th century

Bobbin lace (guipure), with a symmetrical pattern of sprigs of roses and other flowers and leafy stems, with cushion and diamond fillings, united by bars (brides) with loops (picots). There is a row of blossom along the upper edge.
