Etui or bodkin case and cover of porcelain painted with enamels, in the form of a garlanded heart on a column, and with a gold mount, made by Chelsea Porcelain factory, London, ca. 1759-1769

Etui or bodkin case and cover of porcelain painted with enamels, in the form of a garlanded heart on a column, and with a gold mount. [Etui] Etui in the form of a column painted to imitate marble, veined with crimson and gold, and beneath the base is painted a heart pierced by an arrow, encircled by the motto 'JE CONTRAINT LES PLUS HAUT'. [Cover] Cover in the shape of a heart wreathed in flowers applied in relief.
