This drawing was formerly attributed to William Hodges. It s the preliminary drawing made by Thomas Daniell for the aquatint by the same artist in 'Oriental Scenery' published by T and W Daniell, 1795-1815. An impression of the aquatint is no. 14894.91 in the Department of Prints and Drawings.
