Loving cup, red earthenware covered with a white slip with incised inscription, made by Claypits Pottery, Ewenny, Wales, about 1900

Loving cup of concial shape with three handles. Red earthenware with a yellowish lead glaze over white slip, brown glazed inside. On the outside with sgraffito inscription which reads: 'Cariad cwpan / fel yn / 1670' (Loving cup as in 1670).
